Dialog #1
BASAkalimantan Wiki, held on November 13, 2024, at KALA Cafe, Banjarbaru, raised the theme "Youth Innovation in Reducing Plastic Waste." This event aimed to inspire the active role of the younger generation in protecting the environment. In this dialogue, participants discussed the formulation of public policies related to reducing plastic waste. Additionally, this event also served as an award ceremony for the winners of the Public Participation Wikithon.
The Program Coordinator of BASAkalimantan Wiki, Hudan Noor, expressed his hope that the policies produced by the Wikithon winners could be implemented by the Regional Government. Acting Mayor of Banjarbaru, Dra. Nurliani, also expressed her support for this activity and hoped that participants could spread awareness to reduce plastic usage.
Dialog #2
BASAkalimantan Wiki, held on December 19, 2024, in Banjarbaru, involved young people in drafting policies related to plastic waste. In this dialogue, participants were divided into five groups to discuss various aspects of plastic waste issues and provide solution recommendations. Some of the recommendations produced included broader environmental outreach, the creation of cleanliness information boards, and information on waste banks. The government is committed to involving environmental communities in joint actions and making Banjarbaru a Waste Bank City. Young people play an important role in environmental campaigns, especially through social media, with the "one hand one tumbler" campaign expected to become a lifestyle. All recommendations from this dialogue will be processed into a policy brief that is expected to become a policy in addressing plastic waste issues in Banjarbaru City. This policy briefing will trigger multi-stakeholder discussions that will be broadcast for transparency, accountability, and public input.Videos
