BASAkalimantan Wiki is a platform founded by the BASAibu Wiki Foundation with the aim of popularizing and preserving the Banjar language through digitizing a wiki-based multilingual online dictionary. This foundation has experience in pioneering similar platforms since 2014, including BASAbali Wiki and BASAsulsel Wiki. In 2023, they will expand this effort by adding the Banjar language in the Kalimantan region to be digitized in 2024.

BASAkalimantan Wiki is run in collaboration with two communities in South Kalimantan, namely Akademi Bangku Panjang Minggu Raya Banjarbaru and Sanggar Belajar Mahabbatun Nabi Barambai Barito Kuala.

Initiatives such as BASAkalimantan Wiki are very important to maintain the diversity of local languages ​​in Indonesia and prevent potential extinction. In Indonesia, there are 718 native regional languages, and almost 90 percent of these are in the eastern region of Indonesia, including Kalimantan. Hopefully this effort can enrich cultural heritage and ensure that the Banjar language remains alive and growing. BASAkalimantan Wiki establishes cooperation, coordination and open collaboration with government agencies, NGO, educational units and communities to work together to care for the Banjar language.
