WELCOME TO THE ERA OF BRAIN ROT
This is a Response to the Brain Rot wikithon
Before we begin, let's first recognize the term "brain rot". Brain rot itself means: a decline in thinking ability due to over-consumption of meaningless digital content. Brain rot is also known as "brain rot".
Let me take two cases: children and teenagers.
1. Giving gadgets to children: Surely you are familiar with seeing young children playing gadgets, various kinds of colors on their gadget screens, cheerful songs to interesting animations adorning their screens. Does it have an impact?
Children who have been exposed to gadgets, slowly begin to lose their motor skills. Whereas at this age, motor development is very important for their development. In addition, if children often consume violent content, such as fights and other aggressive actions, they can be indoctrinated and imitate this behavior. If left unchecked, this can affect the way they think and concentrate.
It's unfortunate, isn't it?
2. For teenagers my age (Gen Z): I think mobile phones at this age are good for self-development, getting to know and discovering new things on social media. However, in reality, many teens are more likely to consume negative content, which ultimately affects their mindset and mental health.
For example: When a teenager is experiencing sadness, they tend to search and consume content related to that feeling. Instead of finding a solution, they get lost in sadness, feel worthless, lose motivation, and even withdraw from social life.
So what is the solution to this case of "brain rot"?
Here are my solutions to brain rot:
In Minors: 1. Parental control (Who gives the gadget, she/he is responsible) 2. Spend time playing 3. Give children space to express themselves, whether it's through drawing or playing outdoors. So that children are distracted from gadgets.
In adolescents: 1. Do not open the cell phone immediately when you wake up. 2. Get out of the comfort zone. 3. Try to delete social media such as (TikTok/Instragram) to reduce things that are not useful. 4. Try to exercise without carrying a cellphone, so that the body and mind are more relaxed while enjoying nature. 5. If so, start cleaning yourself up, find what your potential is, what you want to realize in your life. 6. After cleaning yourself up, you can download the previously deleted application again, then look for content on social media, that is related to what you want to do to change yourself.
Among the two solutions, the one that I would like to convey the most is : Educating people/schools who are still unfamiliar with brain rot.
In closing, here's a slogan from me:
