Currently, plastic waste is a major problem that threatens the environment. With the increasing use of plastic, much of it ends up in the oceans and surrounding areas, polluting ecosystems and endangering all forms of life. One creative solution to help reduce plastic waste is to create ecobricks. An ecobrick is a plastic bottle filled tightly with non-biodegradable plastic waste, turning it into a strong and eco-friendly building material.
Implementing ecobricks can be an initial step in reducing plastic waste in our communities. By collecting unused plastic and packing it into used bottles, we not only reduce waste but also create an alternative building material that can be used to make furniture, garden walls, and even playgrounds. This activity is easy to do at home and can involve all family members.
Ecobricks are not only a practical solution but also educate the community, especially young people, on the importance of waste management. In this way, we can all contribute to preserving the environment for a greener future. +
EcoGuardians Mission began in a small town surrounded by piles of plastic waste. Amidst these concerning conditions, five friends named Patricia, Jessica, Marcella, Indah, and Mikha often gathered to play and spend time together. One day, while exploring a park overgrown with weeds and old trees, they discovered a mysterious box glowing softly from within the bushes. When they opened the box, a burst of shimmering light enveloped them, granting them extraordinary powers they never expected. Patricia gained the ability to transform trash into clean energy that could illuminate the town and power the gadgets they created, while Jessica could communicate with animals, providing valuable information about the locations of trash and places that needed attention.
After acquiring their powers, the EcoGuardians quickly realized they were faced with a significant threat. The plastic waste scattered throughout the town had formed an evil creature named Banjir, which disrupted the environment by creating dirty water puddles filled with trash. The presence of Banjir caused confusion and fear among the townspeople, who didn't know how to tackle this problem. With a strong fighting spirit, the EcoGuardians decided to unite and act swiftly. They planned a strategy to confront Banjir, with Patricia creating an energy shield from the transformed waste and Jessica summoning birds to monitor the creature’s movements.
Marcella used her ability to control plants, calling on bushes and roots to restrain Banjir from escaping. Indah, with her creativity, crafted tools from recycled materials to assist them in battle. Each time they faced Banjir, they worked together and supported one another. When they finally succeeded in defeating the creature, the EcoGuardians not only cleaned the environment but also educated the townspeople about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and reducing plastic waste. They held seminars in schools and communities, inviting everyone to get involved in keeping the environment clean.
With this success, the EcoGuardians became heroes in the eyes of the community, and their actions inspired many to care for the environment. Patricia, Jessica, Marcella, Indah, and Mikha believed that with courage and cooperation, they could transform the world into a better place. They continued to fight to protect the environment and advocate for a clean, green future for generations to come. Their mission didn’t stop there; the EcoGuardians were determined to explore more places, tackle new challenges, and invite more people to join the fight against plastic waste for a better Earth.
If you want to shop, don't use plastic bags anymore, but use bags made of cloth so that not too much trash piles up.
There are also other ways to reduce waste. +
1.Use a tote bag when shopping.Tote bags can also be reused.
2.Always carry your own water bottle/tumbler.
3.Use a lunch box or food container that can be reused.
4.Recycle plastic waste so we can preserve the environment.
5.Avoid using plastic straws.
6.Reduce the use of plastic packaging.
7.Reduce the use of plastic forks.
8.Reduce the use of plastic spoons.
Why should we reduce the use of plastic waste?
Because plastic waste is a type of waste that is difficult to decompose, non-degradable plastic waste can cause environmental pollution such as water, soil, and air pollution, disrupt marine ecosystems, and cause floods. Plastic waste not only pollutes the environment but also impacts our health.
As teenagers, we must actively reduce the use of plastic to protect the environment. We can use tote bags when shopping, carry reusable water bottles, and use lunch boxes or food containers that can be reused. Avoid single-use products, such as straws, plastic forks, and spoons. Choose products with minimal and eco-friendly packaging. Additionally, it’s important to recycle unused plastic so it doesn’t pollute the earth. We can also raise awareness about the negative impacts of plastic to our friends and family. With these small actions, we contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment, creating a better future.
The less plastic we use, the more we save in the future.
Let’s continue our mission as protectors of the earth! +
We must dispose of rubbish in its palace to keep the enviroment clean and pleasing to other people's eyes +
Environmental cleanliness is very important for living creatures, therefore we must maintain its cleanliness by throwing rubbish in the right place to prevent flooding, reducing continuous cutting of trees to prevent smog, distinguishing between dry and wet waste so that it is easy to manage it, working together to clean the surrounding environment. , we can also recycle waste into good things, for example, turning plastic bottles into used tin pots into pencil or pen cases. A clean environment not only benefits our health, but also has a positive impact on the preservation of nature and other creatures around us. +
Eliminating waste can reduce the negative impact that waste has on the surrounding environment. By eradicating rubbish we provide a sense of comfort to each other and ourselves. +

Waste is a serious environmental issue, especially plastic waste, which contaminates ecosystems and negatively impacts human health. The increase in population and consumption makes waste management increasingly important to prevent pollution.
However, effective management can present opportunities for innovation. Public awareness of the importance of recycling and reducing plastic use is growing, encouraging sustainable actions to protect the environment. +
Drink cups made of plastic have now become one of the most common types of waste among students. Almost every day, we see friends, and even ourselves, buying drinks from the cafeteria. This waste may seem trivial, but it actually has a significant negative impact. Just imagine—by buying a single packaged drink, we’re already generating at least five types of plastic waste: the straw, sachet packaging, plastic bag, cup lid, and the cup itself. If one person can buy drinks 2–3 times a day, how much plastic waste is produced in a single day by one class? One school? One city? Even one country? The amount must be enormous! And yet, plastic waste takes tens to hundreds of years to decompose—some only break down after 450 years. One small step by bringing a tumbler today could make a big difference for the earth tomorrow.
As students, we can make a big change through simple actions. By joining GITAR—the Environmentally Friendly Tumbler Movement—we can start replacing the habit of using plastic cups by bringing our own tumblers from home. Besides being more economical and practical, this step is an important part of the effort to save the environment. Nowadays, there are many tumblers with attractive and functional designs. The tumbler we carry every day can be a self-expression piece by matching its design to our personality.
GITAR will include several movement branches, such as:
- **Story Melody**:
This is a social media campaign in the form of a hashtag that shares stories about your tumbler. You can use Instagram templates to tell anything about your tumbler, like why you chose a blue tumbler, where you bought it, and more.
- **Colored Notation**:
This is a support from cafeterias or coffee shops to offer discounts to friends who bring their own tumblers. For example, all customers would receive a card with seven musical notes. Each time they come with a tumbler, the card will be stamped in sequence with do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti. When the stamps reach "ti," they are entitled to a 100% discount (or according to the café/canteen policy).
- **Thirst Harmony**:
This is support from schools or institutions to provide free water refills. Large water containers would be placed in strategic spots so we can refill our water whenever we like.
- **Joyful Arrangement**:
This is an activity to recycle plastic waste from bottles, drink cups, straws, and plastic glasses. We can recycle them into musical instruments, such as plastic bottle maracas, plastic box guitars, plastic bucket drums, or anything else. These recycled creations would be displayed at a bazaar, giving them commercial value. In schools, this activity could be incorporated into P5 lessons on the theme of "Sustainable Living," though other groups may also use this activity.
Isn’t it exciting to see what GITAR can achieve with just small actions? By starting with a tumbler, we can save the earth. The earth we stand on, the earth that meets our needs for clothing, food, and shelter, and the earth that provides us with shelter. It would be heartbreaking if our future generations couldn't enjoy a healthy earth. Let’s not let our selfishness and laziness today cast a shadow on tomorrow.
Let us be a generation of students who care for the environment by choosing a tumbler as a loyal companion every day—a small step that makes a big impact on nature and the future.

Let’s become a generation of students who care about the environment by choosing a tumbler as a faithful companion every day a small step with a big impact on nature and the future.
Waste handling is an activity that is carried out to manage waste from the beginning to the disposal. Waste handling aims to reduce the impact of waste on the health and aesthetic environment. +
Plastic waste is used or unused items made from non-renewable chemicals, such as oil, natural gas and coal. Plastic waste is a type of waste that is dangerous for the environment
To deal with plastic waste around us, we can implement the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), with this we can reduce the amount of waste in the environment around us. +
The visible waste, such as plastic, small packaging, and various other materials, is scattered among the wild plants. This condition reflects a common environmental pollution problem that can harm the soil and affect plant growth. The importance of waste management and public awareness to maintain environmental cleanliness is evident here, as plastic waste takes a long time to decompose and can contaminate the surrounding environment.
The actions we can take include cleaning up the waste, sorting what can be recycled, and educating the community about its harmful effects. However, this is an opportunity for all of us to start caring and taking action. With small steps like cleaning and recycling, we can make a big change for the environment. Every action we take today shapes a cleaner and healthier Earth for the future. Never underestimate the power of small, consistent actions! +
Waste is a complex problem that affects environmental and public health. Population growth and urbanization have led to ever-increasing waste production, often exceeding existing management capacity. Many regions face challenges in managing waste, which often ends up in poorly managed dumpsites, contaminating soil and water, and posing health risks to residents.
It is important to raise awareness and implement better waste management practices. Efforts such as reduction, reuse and recycling should be prioritized in public policy and individual behavior. In addition, innovations in waste management technology and public education on the importance of waste responsibility can help create a cleaner and healthier environment. With these measures, we can reduce the negative impacts of waste and preserve the environment for future generations. +
Appealing to maintain cleanliness by not littering is very important. Let us all be responsible by throwing garbage in its place, recycling, and keeping the surrounding environment clean and healthy. Environmental cleanliness is our shared responsibility! +
