A digital detox is the process of reducing or eliminating the use of digital devices such as smartphones, computers, tablets, and social media for a period of time. The goal is to: Reduce stress: Constant exposure to notifications, emails, and social media can trigger stress and anxiety. Improve focus: Excessive use of digital devices can interfere with concentration and the ability to focus on important tasks. Improve sleep quality: The blue light from digital device screens can interfere with the production of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep. Improve social interaction: A digital detox gives us the opportunity to reconnect with those around us in person. Improve self-awareness: By reducing our use of digital devices, we can become more aware of our habits and thought patterns.
