"Brain rot" refers to a condition where a person becomes distorted by constant exposure to negative or shallow information, often caused by excessive consumption of social media. For Gen Z, who grew up in the digital age, the impact of "brain rot" can be significant, especially in terms of morality. Exposed to content that often undermines positive values such as empathy, honesty, and hard work, Gen Z risks losing a clear understanding of what is right and wrong. Furthermore, their dependency on instant entertainment and sensationalism may make them more susceptible to shallow and uncritical thinking. This can negatively impact their moral decisions, such as prioritizing social media popularity over real-life values.
