Brain rot is a condition of mental decline due to excessive consumption of low-quality digital content, such as short videos and superficial information on social media. This phenomenon leads to a decrease in critical thinking abilities, concentration and creativity. The impacts can include memory impairment, difficulty focusing, as well as emotional problems such as anxiety or depression. Brain rot is more prone to occur in the younger generation who are often exposed to instant content. Therefore, it is important to reduce social media consumption, choose meaningful content, and implement digital detoxification to maintain mental health.
